about

Phonix Records is beyond excited to share the latest EP from Locked Locker – ‘Hover Tech’. Locked Locker is the epic collaboration between Marcelo Espindola (aka half of Killer Buds/ Brazil) and Josue Guzman (aka HyperActive / Mexico). After years honing their sound with respected labels like 3D Vision and Replicant Records, with this release they present the next evolution of Locked Locker. Retaining their sci-fi themed night full on style – the duo add a psychedelic twist to their sound. The result is an epic fusion of night full on power with enough acid to fracture the reality matrix!

‘Hover Tech’ is the eponymous hyper powered title track that opens the EP. Featuring sharp and uplifting melodies over serious basslines – this track is bound to be a crowd pleaser. ‘The Way’ showcases a different vibe – more serious and cerebral – this introspective banger is a deep journey into the chaos of the inner cosmos. Leading up to the final track – a wonderfully deranged and extremely psychedelic remix to ‘Surprises Upset People’ by Absolum (Christof Drouillet / 3D Vision) – a psytrance legend in every right. The original is a classic that was released in 2006 on the legendary Phantasm Records. This remix is a true labour of love – the duo preserved the original vibe of this monster track while updating the sounds and adding their own flavour of mayhem. The result is a deranged BEAST that is going to burn up dancefloors.

A huge shout out to German (Aum Project/Ex-Gen) for the stellar mastering and John Phantasm (Phantasm Recs / UK) & Absolum for their willingness to trust us with the remix. Enough said – take us to your speakers – it’s time to explore Hover Tech!
