Artificial Intelligence has come forward by leaps and bounds and is not slowing down. What does this mean for us? Is artificial intelligence a malevolent presence or is it more akin to a new friend, here to help us reach new heights? This was the question that ReFractor (Luan Boes/South Arica) was considering at the Phonix Labs. After much experimentation, analysis and deep wave research - he found the answer - ‘We Are The Same’!

Phonix Records is proud to present the brand new EP from ReFractor. The title track is a positive groovy beast designed to make listeners lose themselves to the dancefloor - there is no us and them - ‘We Are The Same’. What follows is a more introspective track - reality distorts, digital signals degrade but the energy level stays true. ‘Take the Wheel’ is a deep exploration of the mystical bond between man and machine. Offering a small respite is the realisation of the ‘Holographic Universe’. The ideal vision of the future of humans and A.I, a slow burning story that firmly cements listeners to the dancefloor with heavy basslines and acid leads. Last but not the least is a remix of ‘Simply Complicated’ by Israeli masters Shameless (Shay Menachem) and Earworm (Max Meshiv). Joining ReFractor on this remix is Loophole (Benjamin Loggenberg/South Africa). The result is an epic end to this release. Power, haunting melodies and an unrelenting energy that never slows down.
